MISSION STATEMENT

Sweeter Theater Productions is a nonprofit theater company dedicated to providing opportunities for emerging female theater artists.  Founded in 2007 by three young women, Sweeter Theater aims to create substantive, pertinent, and thought-provoking works while both entertaining and inspiring audiences.

 

 

 

Robyn Frank
Co-Artistic Director and Founding Member

Robyn has been acting and producing in New York City for the past four years. Her acting credits include Natural History in the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival (Sweeter Theater Productions), Sympathetic Division (EST), The Odd Couple (KZ Productions), Regularly Scheduled Programming (Vital Theater), Crimes of the Heart (Inspired Artists Productions), The House of Yes (Sweeter Theater Productions) Romeo and Juliet (Guthrie), A Diner, A Shiner (American Globe Theater/Impact Theater), Too Bad (Bridge Theater Company), and The Long Christmas Dinner (Rita Morganthau Theater). She has also appeared on television in As the World Turns.  Robyn is a proud graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater.

Maura Farver
Co-Artistic Director and Founding Member

Maura’s recent directing credits include Natural History in the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival (Sweeter Theater Productions), Three Movements (Heiress Productions), Sympathetic Division (Sweeter Theater Productions and Midtown International Theatre Festival), Affluenza! (Heiress Productions), Miss Bingley-Hardin's Kindergarten Class (Impact Winter One Act Festival), Regularly Scheduled Programming (Vital Signs), The House of Yes (Sweeter Theater Productions), Lunch Hour (Heiress Productions), The Author's Voice (Williamstown Theatre Festival), The 100 Most Beautiful Names of Todd (Williamstown Theatre Festival) and “Lucky” from Susan-Lori Park’s 365 Days/365 Plays.  She also received an award for Outstanding Direction for Sympathetic Division at MITF in 2008. Assistant directing credits include Flamingo Court (New World Stages) and Party Come Here (for Christopher Ashley, WTF); Broadway PA credits include Spring Awakening, Three Days of Rain and The Odd Couple.  Maura is a graduate of Duke University and an avid environmentalist.

Colleen Allen
Founding Member

Colleen has acted in numerous productions around New York including the New York premiere of Sympathetic Division with Sweeter Theater Productions, the Vital Signs New Works Festival, the Impact Winter One-Act Festival, and The House of Yes (Sweeter Theater). She is a graduate of The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre and has interned with Edge Theater.  Colleen is currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee.
